The Smithers District Chamber of Commerce was happy to host Premier Christy Clark at a Chamber Luncheon July 8. Premier Clark travelled to the North to take part in the Reopening of the Kitwanga Sawmill and to take part in a TownHall meeting in Terrace. Before flying home Premier Clark stopped in Smithers where she was greeted by over 140 Chamber members at a Chamber luncheon at the Hudson Bay Lodge. Premier Clark spoke on Northern BC's major role in driving the Canadian economy in the next decade due to opportunities once the Northwest Transmission Line is complete and the resurgence of the forestry sector.
